Internal Job Title : Operations Analyst/Database Administrator Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Location: Sault Ste. Marie, ON Work Model: Hybrid or Remote Deadline for Submissions: January 22nd, 2024 Position Summary As an Operations Analyst/Database Administrator in our Lottery and Gaming division you will have the opportunity to broaden your skill set as you work to support our custom applications that are deployed across countries and governments throughout North America, the Caribbean and South America. You’ll also be in touch with our customers on a regular basis and you’ll be working with people of both technical and non-technical backgrounds. What You Will Do Install and support a variety of database technologies, and monitor database health and performance. Analyze and promptly resolve system issues and optimize performance for enhanced system efficiency. Conduct storage growth projections and capacity planning to accommodate future growth. Develop SQL scripts for database changes associated with new software releases. Collaborate with development teams to develop and deploy new solutions. Manage security ensuring data confidentiality and design and manage backup strategies to ensure data integrity in a highly available environment. Perform root-cause analysis and follow ITIL processes managing incidents, problems, and change requests Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery and failure response procedures to ensure data availability and integrity. Write and update a wide variety of technical documentation including implementation plans, architectural diagrams, policies, standards, and operating procedures. Various other duties and responsibilities. Qualifications Knowledge and Experience Post secondary education in Computer Science/Engineering or related field Certifications in Microsoft SQL server or PostgreSQL is an asset 2+ years experience developing and/or administering MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL database systems in Windows and Linux environments Experience in Lottery & Gaming sector is an asset Scripting experience with Javascript, SQL, and/or Linux/Bash; Powershell is an asset Skills and Abilities Self-directed learner, continuously learning new technology Attention to detail and dedication to providing a quality product Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task A passion for helping people Demonstrates good judgement Mandatory Requirements Ability to travel and valid passport On-call evenings and weekends (rotation) Ability to obtain and maintain required gaming and security clearances (e.g. AGCO) About Us CBN designs and develops industry leading solutions for the following domains: Border Security, Civil Identity, Driver Identification and Vehicle Information, Currency and Excise Control, and Lottery and Charitable Gaming.
