With an industry-leading team of in-house energy experts, we are a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. and function as Canadian Solar’s global development and power services business.Job Title: IT Systems AdministratorDepartment:ITReports to: IT DirectorLocation:Guelph, ON (Hybrid)IT Systems AdministratorSummary:An IT systems administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the computer systems and networks of an organization. They ensure that the IT infrastructure is reliable, efficient, and up to date with the latest technologies and best practices. They also provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff.Duties and Responsibilities:Install, configure, and update hardware and software components of computer systems and networks, such as servers, routers, switches, firewalls, antivirus, operating systems, applications, etc. Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, availability, security, and functionality using various tools and methodsIdentify and resolve system issues, problems, and errors in a timely and effective mannerCreate and manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and access rightsImplement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect the organization’s data and systems from unauthorized access, use, modification, or destructionProvide Level 1 and 2 helpdesk support for all assigned problemsConduct security audits and assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities and risksResearch and evaluate new technologies, products, and solutions that can improve the organization’s IT infrastructure and operationsParticipate in security compliance reviewsOn a quarterly basis, generate access lists for all systems and forward the report to the BSO for their review and approvalProvide technical support and assistance to users and other IT staff via phone, email, chat, or in personCollaborate with other IT staff, vendors, contractors, and external partners on IT projects and initiativesSkills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related fieldAt least 3 years of experience as an IT systems administrator or similar roleFamiliar with various hardware devices, such as servers, routers, switches, printers, etc. Knowledgeable in networking protocols and concepts, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN, etc. Skilled in using various tools and software for system administration, such as Active Directory, PowerShell, SSH, RDP, etc. Experience managing enterprise applications, such as Office 365, Exchange, Azure, SharePoint, etc. Working knowledge of VMWare and Data Storage systemsWorking knowledge of Identity Providers like Azure AD, OKTA, and SSO solutionsStrong understanding of system security principles and best practicesExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Working knowledge of project management best practicesAttention to detail (accuracy, quality, documentation)Ability to work independently (self-motivation, initiative, time management)Ability to work under pressure (stress tolerance, adaptability, flexibility)Note:We embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace, welcoming applications from all qualified persons.
