Junior HR Technology Solutions Analyst (18-Month Contract)

The Opportunity

The ITS HR Technology team is part of Business Enablement Services and provides the effective delivery of HR technology-related systems implementations, enhancements, maintenance, integration, and operational support and reporting.

The Junior HR Technology Solutions Analyst works in partnership with senior team members to deliver project and operational support across the spectrum of HR systems supported by the team.

The position requires general knowledge of HR processes and practices, a strong aptitude for business systems analysis, systems implementation and maintenance processes, a desire to make a career in HR technology, and the flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

The ITS HR Technology team is based at the Toronto Vaughan office but works primarily from home with occasional days in the office for team meetings.

What You Will Do

  • Support business process requirements assessment by participating in requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders and SMEs, documenting outcomes, assessing current and future state processes, conducting gap analysis against system capabilities, and completing risk assessment, impact and ROI analyses.
  • Develop and use technical knowledge of system configuration and functionality to assess options, best practices, and provide recommendations for solutions to business requirements.
  • Prepare documentation to obtain business owner sign-off on requirements, solutions, and action plans.
  • Draft formal requirements and functional/technical specifications documentation, and configure systems (PeopleSoft/other HCM applications, iCIMS/other recruiting applications) or partner with vendors and developers to build systems solutions.
  • Design and execute test plans, liaising effectively with developers/vendors, and coordinate and obtain end-user sign off, where necessary.
  • Maintain and update documentation on process SOPs, configuration specifications, testing, signoffs, etc.; develop and deliver end user training on solution functionality, process changes, etc.
  • Provide technical support for HR systems by troubleshooting low-to-moderate complexity system problems; act as the technical liaison between the end user and vendor/developer when escalating problems requiring coding program fixes or for issues outside the scope of HR Technology.
  • Perform basic security maintenance within HR applications. Perform basic and regular configuration maintenance and moderate customization within HR applications.
  • Collaborate and partner effectively with the team in problem solving and managing work capacity by using team-based work-intake processes and working to gain and share knowledge across the spectrum of systems supported within the infrastructure.

What You Bring To The Role

  • University degree in Computer Science/Business, with HR training and/or experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with 1-2 integrated HR systems and interfaces (PeopleSoft and/or SAP/SuccessFactors and/or specialized applications, e.g., Recruitment solutions).
  • 1 to 2 years work experience within an HR or HR Technology environment.
  • Computer software skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Basic Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint
  • Preferred SQL, Power BI, HTML/CSS
  • Ability to think conceptually, problem-solve, and create systems solutions to address straightforward business needs.
  • Developing business analysis and impact analysis skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage work across several systems and projects with competing priorities and timelines, with management guidance.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Introductory project management experience as a project team member.

This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate may be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders while at KPMG. The successful candidate may be required to create, interpret and/or apply policies, practices, laws and and/or regulations during the regular course of their employment.
