Position Overview: As the Lead Carpenter at Disher Homes, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction of modular and custom homes from start to finish throughout the Southern New Brunswick Area. Your expertise in carpentry and construction management will contribute to the success of our projects, ensuring that each home is built to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position is a 42-hour-a-week (minimum) position with the understanding that extra hours (including weekend work) may be needed to complete work on tight timelines when necessary. The applicants must also be able to get to and from job sites reliably and consistently. Your expertise in carpentry, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills will contribute to maintaining the high standards we set for our homes. Responsibilities: Project Leadership : Lead and manage a team of carpenters in the construction of modular homes, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards. Carpentry Expertise : Demonstrate advanced carpentry skills in the assembly and installation of modular home components, including framing, roofing, siding, and interior finishes. Blueprint Interpretation : Interpret and implement construction plans and blueprints accurately, ensuring that modular components are assembled with precision and in accordance with specifications. Quality Control : Conduct regular inspections to maintain the highest level of quality in construction, identifying and addressing any issues promptly. Team Collaboration : Collaborate with other construction professionals, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to coordinate activities and resolve construction challenges. Safety Compliance : Enforce and promote a culture of safety on the construction site, ensuring that all team members adhere to WorksafeNB and our own internal safety protocols. Material Management : Manage the procurement and utilization of construction materials efficiently, minimizing waste and controlling costs. Training and Development : Mentor and train junior carpenters, fostering skill development and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Other duties as assigned by upper management. Requirements: Proven Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in carpentry with a track record of successful project leadership. Leadership Skills : Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve project goals. Technical Proficiency : Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and blueprints, with advanced carpentry skills. Communication : Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with team members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. Safety Focus : Thorough understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and regulations in the construction industry. Problem-solving : Ability to identify and address construction challenges efficiently and effectively. Team Player : Collaborative mindset with a dedication to teamwork and achieving common goals. Adaptability : Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and schedules.
