We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Facilities Maintenance Student to join the JD Irving Real Estate team at our head office location in Saint John, New Brunswick.
The facilities maintenance student is responsible for supporting the planning and administration of facility related tasks. This role involves conducting regular checks on building equipment, providing support for ongoing projects, and assisting in data entry tasks. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and contribute to our facilities management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine checks throughout the building to ensure proper functionality.
  • Label and document equipment for easy identification and maintenance tracking purposes.
  • Participate in project coordination by assisting in planning, organizing, and supporting ongoing maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Perform data entry tasks by collecting information from the field and accurately entering it into E1 for record-keeping purposes.

Education and Skills:
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant program (e.g., Facilities Management, Architectural Design Technology etc.) or related field at a college or university.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Detail oriented with strong customer focus orientation, sense of urgency, and quality of work.
  • Proactive with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience using MS Office tools and Enterprise Systems/Software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of building systems and repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boiler systems, etc.) considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of commercial or residential building facility maintenance considered a strong asset.
