About The Opportunity

The Secretary is accountable and responsible for providing administrative/secretarial support with minimal supervision/direction to the Hants Health & Wellness team. The Secretary is responsible for efficient prioritization of multiple responsibilities to meet the requirements of the department(s) utilizing initiative, judgment and knowledge in a highly confidential manner. The Secretary will be a key contact for Hants Health & Wellness team and will interface with staff, clients, the public and community agencies.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Secretarial diploma and/or course from a recognized college or school of business plus a minimum of one year of related experience
  • Demonstrated typing proficiency with a speed of 60 wpm required
  • Working knowledge of patient registration and scheduling systems and payroll system (STAR and PHS Preferred)
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • Experience in a health care setting preferred
  • Experience working in Primary Health Care an asset
  • Must be self-directed and adept at problem-solving while working with minimal supervision
  • Must have strong organizational skills that demonstrate the ability to prioritize upon short notice while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • A skills test may be performed for this position**

Hours

  • Long Assignment, Part Time (20%) position, 14 hours bi-weekly
  • The position will be for primarily Friday coverage.
  • Approximately 23 months

Compensation and Incentives

$23.07 - $25.59 Hourly
